Charming portrait signed by a young woman of quality, Arlésienne cherishing cherries). H.framework (gold frame). Abel Faivre born in Lyon in 1867, died in Nice in 1945. Painter, caricaturist, lithographer and illustrator. He studied at the BA school in Lyon and then in Paris, attended the Académie Julien de Sartre with Jules Lefebvre and Benjamin Constant. Exhibited at the French Ste. Des Aristes and medalist of the World Exhibition and Exhibitions of Lyon and Geneva. Satirical Drawings at The Butter Plate (to support the war effort 14/18) Noted for the accuracy and romance of his portraits of women.
