Large bronze clock with medal patina, surmounted by two women draped in the Antique style representing The Two Fates, which according to Roman mythology are associated with the deities of destiny. Identical attitude of the characters, Aphrodite and Dione, punctuated by an infinite variety of drapes. Quality of the renderings of the models due to the very beautiful bronze casting carried out by Barbedienne, which was one of the best European workshops in the 19th century. Sculpture signed F. Barbedienne, founder and hidden "mechanical reduction A. Collas". The base is in Belgian black marble enriched with neoclassical bronze decorations. Baluster base finished in spinning top. The brass dial with Roman numerals. The motifs of the base are remarkable, they are the interpretation of the ornamentalist Louis-Constant Sévin (1821-1888), who here shows his perfect knowledge of ancient subjects, treatment of the decorations with a neoclassical rigor of the most beautiful effect.
