Pendulum Louis XIV style and Napoleon III period in marquetry of red tortoiseshell, brass and pewter Boulle style. Brass dial with Roman numerals supported by a gilded bronze representing the god Chronos in the guise of a bearded, winged and naked old man with a scythe surrounded by the ourobouros at his feet. Very beautiful detail that the leg of Chronos sharing the enamel plate on which is inscribed the Latin verse "afflictis lentae celeres gaudentibus horae" which means: slow to the afflicted, the hour is fast to the blessed.
