Ancient Stone Head Smooth Eyes Enigma
Enigmatic stone head with smooth eyes. The man has a mustache and a beard, the hair is curled in the style of the 2nd century AD. Its particularity: the eyes are flat and smooth. This could make one think of the ancient tradition of certain peoples of depositing a coin on the eyes of the dead: the obol to Charon. The head is damaged in the lower rear part. The patina does not suggest a recent break. 21cm high 17cm wide 17cm deep
