Bobo Fing Mask, Burkina Faso
Artist: Bobo Fing
"Nwenke" type mask presenting an impassive and very balanced face. It is adorned with scarifications and is surmounted by a sagittal crest. Nails remain stuck in the forehead which indicates that it must have been adorned with a metal plate as is sometimes the case for this type of mask. Dense wood with patina of use, slight splits.
