" Carriage Clock Leroy Et Fils - Drocourt Quarter Repeat Petite Sonnerie"
Carriage clock signed Le Roy et Fils Palais Royal 13 and 15 PARIS with rolling bench signed DROCOURT on the back plate and HL (manufacture of rolling benches Hollingues frères) on the pillared plate (not visible).
This clock strikes the hour and the quarter-hours as it passes (Petite Sonnerie), it has the function by pressing the button above the repetition of the hour and the quarter-hours passed and also the alarm/wake-up ( small lower hand)
The escapement is with English lever.
The gilded bronzes of the cage show general wear to the gilding, there are also some light scratches and marks.
The beveled glasses are in very good condition,
it bears the number 9559 (Leroy et Fils) and the number 10354 (Drocourt) the movement is hand-engraved at the stall behind the gong at the bottom of the plate: ironed by Leroy et Fils Palais Royal 13 t 15. rolling benches often arrived raw from the factory and had to be ironed and adjusted, then added the exhaust.
The movement (striking and hourly rate) works over 8 days, so you have to wind up the time and the striking every week.
The photos are not retouched: the object is prettier in real life than in the photos, no bad surprises, it is a choice on the part of our workshop. All the work carried out on this clock is carried out in compliance with the ethical rules for the restoration of watchmaking objects. i.e. without modification or embellishment of the timepiece and using mineral or high-end synthetic oils and greases (Moebius, etc.) for lubrication Restoration of this clock (complete disassembly piece by piece of the movement and of the cage) has just been carried out in an Art Watchmaking workshop (www.horloger-chastant.fr) Its operation is guaranteed (time, chime).
PRECAUTIONS AND ADVICE: it is advisable to handle the clock with cotton gloves to avoid the oxidation of the golden brass by the sweat of the fingers (if fingerprints must be applied immediately without waiting to pass a soft cloth without product), respect the direction of the arrows for setting the time and for setting the alarm clock). It should not be exposed near a heat source (fireplace in operation, radiators, halogen spotlights, sunlight) There is no work to be done on this beautiful clock.
The next revision should be done in 5 to 10 years maximum (aging of the oils, which oxidize, causing wear on the pivot points) all reasonable purchase proposals will be examined and will receive a response. Keep in mind the work done and the rarity of this clock
