POPULAR ART WINE ART PHARMACOLOGY FRANCE BURGUNDY XIXTH CAST BRONZE Pair (false) of miniature bronze apothecary mortars, called poison mortars, decorated with vine leaves, vine branches, vine shoots and bunches of grapes on light pedestals with acanthus friezes; the two sockets depicting vine shoots. Slightly brown patinas with verdigris oxidations in the bottom of each mortar. Under base poked for one and smooth for the other; both slightly verdigris. Good condition (see descriptive photos). Neoclassical to naturalistic style. Weight: 223 grams for one and 187 grams for the other.
