Artist: à Identifier
Very Beautiful Empire Style Silver Metal Tea and Coffee Service.
** Beginning of the 20th Century **
It consists of a very beautiful round and generous potbellied teapot, an elegant slender coffee maker resting on a pedestal, a very beautiful sugar bowl and an elegant milk jug.
What particularly characterizes service and first of all its condition because it is in excellent condition and has barely a few small scratches from use, but really without consequence.
But apart from that you will have noticed that the grips or fretels of the three main pieces are small sculptures representing swans superbly represented by these small very finely worked subjects.
The attachments of the handles are patterned with palmettes in the lower part and leafy rosettes for the upper attachments. You will notice that for the coffee maker and the teapot the attachment to the hinge of the lid is also embellished with a beautiful palm leaf.
Each piece rests on an elegant pedestal which gives a graceful and slender line to each element of this high quality service.
You will notice the beautiful laurel leaf friezes that delicately adorn the perimeter of the base and the shoulder of each of the pieces.
The handles in very good condition, are of course made of wood, ebony for this service.
Each piece bears silver metal hallmarks on the reverse, little information is given there but I can tell you that the quality is there for this service, however old, which must date from the very beginning of the 20th Century.
** To finish, I specify you that there is no lack of silvering in some places which are **
