Naga ethnicity. Indo-Burmese border. Old headdress in the shape of a conical helmet made of braided basketwork, decorated with warthog tusks, horsehair and goat hair. Shape probably inspired by British tropical helmets. The English tried to colonize them in the 19th and 20th centuries, in vain. Period: mid-twentieth century.
