"Regency Period Rosewood Veneer Commode"
"Sauteuse" chest of drawers with curved veneer front and sides. It is veneered with rosewood crimped in the reserves, with wood in the frames, the corbin beak surrounding the drawers is veneered across the grain. It opens with two drawers, the front rails decorated with a brass groove, the lower one is scalloped, decorated with a bronze decorated with a shell and acanthus leaves. The rounded amounts are decorated with brass grooves, they end with a curved foot. Beautiful ornamentation of chiseled and gilded bronzes such as: Buttons, keyholes, apron and embedded clogs. She is wearing a red marble from Flanders molded with a beak of corbin. (old restoration, iron staples under the marble on the right side, slight chip on the corbin beak on the left side) Use and maintenance restorations for a refinished piece of furniture, in very good condition.
