Louis XIV mirror with inverted profile in marquetry of native woods: walnut, plum, maple. An alternating frieze of walnut and light wood frames the perimeter of the mirror. The decoration is composed of plant motifs, floral motifs, stylized acanthus leaves at the corners in a double frame. separated by a compound fillet. A blackened wooden molding attached to another small walnut molding surrounds the mercury glass. Very good condition. Probably Languedoc work from the second half of the 17th or early 18th century.
