Clément Castelli was born in Italy in 1870 died in Paris in 1959. He was a pupil of Jules Adler. He exhibited in Paris at the salon of independent artists and his first works show a great diversity: portrait still life etc. From 1920, he turned to mountain landscapes. This work is dated and signed also on the back 1937 and designated Chamonix, Mont Blanc.
