René Jean Clot, a painter born in Algeria in 1913, died in Clermont-Ferrand in 1997. After studying at the Algiers School of Fine Arts, he settled in Paris in 1935, where he studied under Gromaire. He participated in group exhibitions of Algerian artists and exhibited in the Algiers and Durand galleries. From 1948, he was a drawing teacher for the city of Paris. His works can be seen at the National Museum of Arts in Algiers.
