"Art Nouveau Bronze Sculpture "swimmer" By Gerg Leisek ( Born 1869)"
The fine and detailed figure of a girl in an Art-Deco swimsuit was created by Austrian sculptor Gerg Leisek, born in 1869. He studied at the Vienna Art Academy under EvHellmer and C. Zumbusch. His works are found throughout Austria: sculptures for Buergerthetre (1900), Town Hall of Floridsdorf (1902), University of Vienna (1902), Monument of Kaiser Franz Josef I in Prachatitz (1903), Arnau and Ischl (1910).
Inscription: signed Leisek on the bronze base.
Technique: bronze with brown patina, mounted on a marble base
Dimensions: h 51 cm, h without base 35.5 cm.
Condition: in good condition
