Oil on canvas signed lower left L. Prieur, for Louis Charles D. Prieur, depicting the playground of a country school in the south of France. The twenty children of the only class play under the watchful eye of the teacher standing under the plane trees and near which stands a "big certificate". Montparnasse setting. Dimensions of the canvas, 50x61 cm Total dimensions, with frame, 66x77 cm. Prior Louis Charles D., born August 13, 1887 in By-Thomery (Seine-et-Marne). He was a pupil of H. Royer and Gervais. He exhibited in Paris, at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1914. Member outside the competition. He obtained a mention in 1924, a silver medal in 1925, a gold medal in 1934. Cf. Benezit.
