Beautiful Parisian production entirely veneered on oak from the mid Empire period, circa 1808. If columnar models were fashionable from the years 1808 and until the end of the 1810s, our bed is definitely from the beginning of this period. The structure with posterior uprights higher than those of the facades is a reminiscence of the Consulate period of the beginning of the Empire.
Our bed is in very good condition. The mahogany is brilliant, not insolated. Varnish was cleaned and repolished by our cabinetmaker. Ormolu gilding is very well preserved.
NB: this bed, one of the most beautiful and authentic that we have had so far, was one of the heroes of the television program Grand Reportage on TF1: https://www.gslr-antiques.com/fr/actus/article.php
