Important Indo-persian Copper Basin, Chiseled With Chitals, 19th Century, Very Good Condition

Superb Indo-Persian basin in copper engraved and decorated on all sides with fifteen domed mandorles bearing decorations of chitals also called axis deer.
The axis deer or Chital is a deer naturally occurring in the wooded regions of India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.
It is found in all the reserves of India and has been introduced in Central Europe, Former Yugoslavia, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Texas and Hawaii.
Other very fine chitals are chiseled in bands as well as trellis friezes.
The whole is in very good condition Provenance: North India.
Dimensions: Diameter: 29 cm, Diameter at the neck: 22 cm, Height: 18 cm, weight: 1284 grams.
These containers strongly decorated with marvelous engravings, were the joy and the pride of the collections of the bourgeois and the princes of that time and the happiness of the collectors of Islamic art, of today having the Orient and its marvelous objects for passion. .
