Héréké wool rug in very good condition circa 1950, 1960 measuring 208 cm wide by 312 cm long.
Dressed in a superb medallion surrounded by a flowery field dominated by crushed raspberries.
The borders with flower decorations are adorned with colors, almond green, raspberry, pale blue, beige and curry yellow, the fringes are in very good condition.
This Héréké carpet is of very good quality and has remained in very good condition.
Hereke's rugs are wide to suit large areas of rooms.
They are made of wool on cotton, camel hair on cotton, silk on cotton or entirely in silk.
The precision of the double knot, the Turkish knot, allows a clear presentation of models, sets, harmonious color combinations, which makes these rugs very popular. Today, Hereke's rugs are still made according to traditional models inspired by the choices of the Ottoman Sultan Abdulmecid I when he founded the Hereke Imperial Manufactory in 1841.
