Completely hand-knotted, pure wool, vegetable dyes size: 3.89mX0.82m This is a hand-knotted rug, made of natural and durable materials. Imperfections in pattern and shape make this rug unique and underline its authentic and traditional character. Tabriz is one of the oldest cities in Iran. There are different versions of Tabriz rugs. Patterns of old palaces or ruins can often be seen on the carpets. The most common colors are beige, blue and red. These are durable, high quality rugs, often made of fine wool on a cotton warp (spool thread). A good Tabriz has a short, rough pile. Tabriz rugs are excellent rugs to use, with a long lifespan. This is a weathered rug, which has gained in beauty and character through the natural aging process. This Tabriz rug is ideal for a rehearsal room, exhibition or living room, dining room. A Tabriz rug is a type of Persian rug. Tabriz in northwestern Iran was a historic center of carpet production and is an area well known for its court rugs like the Ardabil Rug. After the mid-19th century, Tabriz relaunched its carpet production and became a production center for export to Europe and elsewhere. Of particular importance is the Tabriz carpet. The first carpets for export were made in the town's workshops. After shipping antique rugs abroad, merchants began to produce them themselves in workshops, according to sizes and colors ordered by European merchants. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why this rug is not distinguished by a particular color. Tabriz is located 600 km from Tehran and is one of the largest cities in the country. It is the capital of the province of Azerbaijan. Here people from Asari who speak Turkish dialect live. The city has been an important trade and border town for centuries. Other attractions include the Blue Mosque and the Grand Bazaar. This rug was very well made by a knotting expert.
