"Exceptional Double-sided Inlaid Flat Desk "
Exceptional flat double-sided inlaid "said Minister" desk similar to the Elysée In marquetry in veneered wood in curling, opening with three drawers in the belt and three drawers simulated on the visitor side, with a gilt bronze ingot tray garnished with a tan leather, resting on four curved legs with claw clogs. Rich gilded bronze ornamentation with dull feminine motifs on the angles, and masks. Use and maintenance restorations. XIXth century. Dimensions: H: 82 x W: 176 x D: 93 cm The design of our desk is inspired by the one executed by Cressent around 1720-1725 and kept at the J.-P. Getty Museum or the one made around 1730-1735 , kept at the Munich Residence.
