Bust Of An Egyptian In Polychromed Terracotta 1898

Artist: Johann Baptist Schreiner (1866-1935)
Large and spectacular terracotta bust of an Egyptian woman holding a red marble jar in her hands.
Luscious polychromy and realistic pose make it a feast for the eyes.
It is one of the largest pieces of terracotta that we have ever offered for sale.
Johann Baptist Schreiner was a sculptor and artist who designed medals.
Schreiner was a pupil of Wilhelm von Rümann.
From 1894 he lived in Cologne.
Difficult to convey with the photos the presence offered by this sculpture.
