Large Napoleon III Console In Golden Wood
Important gilded wood living room console from the Napoleon III period nicely topped with a thick veined white marble underlined by a molded border of a corbin beak and spandrels resting on a solid wood structure of finely carved curved shape with openwork 'a rich neoclassical decor in a Rocaille Louis XV style register entirely covered with gold leaf depicting garlands, volutes, rockeries, foliage scrolls, flowers, fruit and shells. The whole resting on an arched base joined by a spacer adorned with a large flowered shell flanked by clips, the feet forming volutes with large acanthus foliage. Good general original condition, beautiful gilding, dimensions: 1.25 m long X 92 cm high X 49 cm deep.
