"Henri Adrien Tanoux, Nude Au Miroir, 1923 Art Deco Period (120cm X 91cm)."
Important oil on canvas representing a woman in portrait, in a theme of "Nu Au Miroir". This work was produced by Henri Adrien Tanoux, painter born in 1865 in Marseille, and died in 1923 in Paris. This painting is signed lower left, and dated 1923. This important painting dates from the year of the artist's death, thus remaining one or one of his last works. Its oval format and its dimensions make this painting one of the largest. The "nude in the mirror" remains a very popular theme for this painter. After entering the École Des Beaux Arts in Marseille in 1878, Henri Adrien Tanoux entered the École Des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1886. He thus becomes the pupil of Léon Bonnat. This painter painted a lot on the orientalist theme, very mainly portraits of women. We also see an oriental presence in this painting proposed above, especially at the level of the small piece of furniture on which this woman puts her hand, and on the textiles on which she is sitting. This nude is treated with a lot of quality, features, colors, and a technique typical of the early Art Deco period. This painting is in good condition, on its original canvas with its original frame. Dimensions with frame: 120cm by 91cm. Dimensions without frame: 101cm by 74cm.
