"Portrait Of A Child Costumed As A Hunter Officer Of The National Guard, Louis-philippe Period"
Charming and touching painting illustrating a child disguised in the uniform of a hunter officer of the National Guard, in a wooded park. Anonymous work around 1830. The boy is shown upright, standing with his senior officer Shako (type 1830, July monarchy) well aimed on his head and proudly holding his sword in his right hand. The painting is very endearing, on a just sketched landscaped background, the child is well treated in a bright color palette, with a delicate face with large blue eyes.Oil on cleaned canvas, with old restorations and enlarged by 0.5 cm on each side to fit the frame:
38 x 45.5 cm
Gilt wood frame from the restoration period in good condition, slightly stitched on the back, with wear and small chips from use:
