This charming pair of gilded bronze frames has retained its original gilding (apart from an outcrop on two daisies). The Louis XVI style displays all the richness of its decorative code: pediment surmounted by a knot of ribbons enclosing two laurel foliage (symbol of victory) falling on each side of the frame. This one is decorated with spandrels in its angles traversed by a frieze of pearls which runs in the sight for one, and on the opposite of the flat area for the other. Two leafy branches adorn the vertical uprights. The lower amount trimmed with a knot in its center retains two pleats of fabric filled with roses and wallflowers. Two bronze sliding plates line their backs and slide, freeing the subject and the glass. Two small photos yellowed and damaged for one but original can be easily replaced by other subjects.
