Old Karabagh Rug, Dated 1910, Signed, 118 Cm X 186 Cm, Hand Knotted In Wool On Wool

Karabakh or Karabakh carpet, originating in Armenia, Caucasus dated 1910 and signed.
On a deep red field (sometimes black) typical of the style of these carpets decorated with three medallions with floral decoration taking up the decoration of the French carpets of the soap factory with foliage of multicolored flowers.
This dense knotting carpet, 360,000 knots per m2, has a wool pile on a wool foundation, a very nice freshness of colors and is in a remarkable state of conservation. This carpet remains in its own juice, not being a big fan of restorations, when the edges and fringes remain in this state.
Carpets prior to 1925 are defined in five groups: Kazakhs, Karabakh or Sjirvan, Kuba and Dagestani.
Carpets from the Karabakh region often have soft patterns and are reminiscent of Persian rugs.
Apart from this classification, there are also Gandja, Silé and Verni rugs.
These rugs are distinguished by their very varied and imaginative geometric patterns.
We sometimes find, in stylized form, animal figures or geometric and architectural patterns.
This rug has been professionally cleaned and environmentally friendly.
