"Leopold Pradere : "bell Tower Of The Saint-hilaire d'Agen Church""
Léopold Pradère (1869-1941) "The bell tower of the Saint-Hilaire Church in Agen" watercolor 38 X 29 cm, circa 1920, mounted in a pretty frame with red and gold inverted slope 42 X 32 cm.If painting was not his main job (he was a civil servant at the State Railways), he was nevertheless a diligent artist and exhibitor of Salons, including that of Paris.
His style, characteristic of the time, is made of a charcoal line on which come the touches of watercolor blending with each other. Originally from Haute-Garonne (Marignac-Laspeyre), he lived in Agen and Pau and, on the occasion of his death, a commemorative exhibition was organized in Parthenay where he is buried.
