This Portuguese artist, born in 1940, studied painting and architecture at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon. He moved to Paris between 1961 and 1991. His works are described by the philosopher Fernando Gil as "praise of the minimal". In his very mysterious works of art, paintings or drawings, he reveals the poetic aspect of a world that escapes reality. His work has been exhibited in particular at the Centre Pompidou in Paris in 1978 ("Ateliers Today 5" with Magdeleine Vessereau) and on numerous occasions at the Calouste-Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon (1983, 1985, 1993, and in 2008 in Paris ).
