Gustave Patriarche : "saint-jean d'Avelanne In Winter"

Gustave Patriarche (1909-2001) produced oils, gouaches and watercolors almost everywhere in France and the Maghreb, in a spirit bringing him closer to painters of Poetic Reality, colorful but nevertheless subtle, dealing with landscapes, nudes or representations of Small Trades of 'a tender and amazed look.
I continue with this mixed technique (it seems to me gouache and oil on paper 30.5 X 47.3 cm per sheet), dating from 1940.
The rendering of the beautiful winter light on the snow covering bare trees and house is lovely and very fair.
Signed, located (Saint-Jean for Saint-Jean d'Avelanne) dated and signature stamp on the back.
The sheet is mounted in a mat 50 X 65 cm.
