"Clubeonne Porcelain Vase Chubei Totai Shippo Japan Meiji Nineteenth"
Chubei * cloisonné porcelain vase "Totai Shippo" with rich bird decoration among colorful flowers, flowers in medallions, as well as stylized plant motifs from Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912) close 19th-early 20th century. This vase is in good condition and is of high quality and finesse of decor. The frame with strapping must be reported. A note: some small accidents and micro-splinters on the partition, dirt, wear and scratches of time, see photos. * Chubei: At the beginning of the Meiji era, the Japanese government wishes to promote the country's arts and crafts for export. New techniques were experimented. Notably, a Nagoya craftsman, Takeuchi Chubei, developed a cloisonné technique attached to porcelain around 1870 called the Totai Shippo. Despite their success, they were not produced very long because very fragile and expensive to achieve.
