16th century Ottoman candlestick in brass, with six-sided tulip shaped neck and bobeche.
Ottoman Empire, 16th century.
Height: 27.5 cm

Provenance: collection of Mr. Jules Henri François CHARLES-ROUX and his wife Mrs. Fanny Charles-Roux, born Zarefi. From their mansion Annanelle in Avignon. Jules Henri Francois CHARLES-ROUX was a French diplomat, Ambassador of France to Damascus in 1964-1969 and Tehran in 1969-1972. He was president of the Suez Canal Company from 1948 to 1956. He formed a collection of internationally renowned Oriental art objects.
