"Persian Veram Kilim Circa 1890"
Persian kilim of the XIX century of origin Véramine Excellent condition. Warm, natural colors with both classic and modern graphics. The art of the kilim was a specialty of Turkish and Persian nomads who developed a corpus of tribal designs similar to that of Turkmen's pile carpets. Like the latter, the nomads were forced to settle down and most of their known weavings date back to a period of artistic and cultural decline - a consequence of their impoverishment and their change of lifestyle. One can still find an old kilim which testifies to the artistic quality of the productions of the past. This is the case of this one which has been woven in one part.
