Entirely knotted by hand, pure wool, vegetable dyes, size: 405cmx295cm. It is a hand-knotted rug made of natural and durable materials. Imperfections in the patterns and shape make this carpet unique and highlight its authentic and traditional character. Tabriz is one of the oldest cities in Iran. There are different versions of Tabriz carpets. One can often see on the rugs grounds of old palaces or ruins. The most common colors are beige, blue and red. These are durable, high quality carpets, often made of fine wool on a cotton chain (bobbin thread). A good Tabriz has a short, rough velvet. Tabriz carpets are excellent rugs for use with a long service life. It is a patina carpet, which has gained in beauty and character thanks to the natural aging process. This Tabriz rug is ideal for a rehearsal room, exhibition or living room, dining room. A Tabriz rug is a type of Persian rug. Tabriz, northwestern Iran was a historic carpet production center and is a region well known for its courtyard carpets such as the Ardabil carpet. After the mid-nineteenth century, Tabriz relaunched its carpet production and became a production center for export to Europe and elsewhere. The Tabriz rug is of particular importance. It was in the workshops of the city that the first carpets for export were made. After having shipped old carpets abroad, the merchants began to produce them themselves in workshops, according to the measures and colors ordered by the European merchants. This is perhaps one of the reasons why this rug does not stand out by a particular color. Tabriz is located 600 km from Tehran and is one of the largest cities in the country.
