17th Century Money Changer Table From Avignon Attributed To Isaac Piqueret
A beautiful table with walnut and cherrywood adorned with light wood inlays centred by a slate plate.
Its hexagonal top is centered with a slate plate for change the money, drawer slide in both directions for the exchange of cash between banker and client. The whole rests on four feet turned balusters.
This moneychanger table is typical of production Piqueret Isaac, cabinetmaker and Swiss marquetry installed in Avignon in the seventeenth century, circa 1650.
