émile Gallé (1846–1904) ““dragonfly And Water Lilies” Soliflore Vase, Circa 1910
Artist: émile Gallé (1846–1904)
Émile GALLÉ (1846–1904) / Établissements Gallé
Art Nouveau Flattened Soliflore Vase – “Dragonfly and Water Lilies”
Flattened flask-shaped soliflore (oval cross-section) vase, with an elongated cylindrical neck terminating in a slightly flared rim, in multi-layered cameo art glass, acid-etched in relief.
The design, in a soft matte chartreuse and celadon green base shading into pale misty blue at the neck, over-laid with deep aubergine-brown acid-cut details, is depicting a poetic wetland scene showing a detailed dra-gonfly in flight—its segmented tail arching gracefully up the neck—hovering above a marsh composed of blossoming water lilies, broad pads, and reeds.
Cameo signature “Gallé” etched in relief within the pond landscape
Art Nouveau Period, circa 1905–1910
Excellent antique condition, crisp acid relief.
