Louis XVI-style Provençal Bench In Painted Wood, With Original Straw Padding And Cushions Made Of Beautir Fabric
A Louis XVI-era Provençal radassier, made of painted wood, which has retained its lovely antique patina as well as its original straw upholstery.
This three-seater model features a simple and elegant design, characteristic of 18th-century Provençal furniture. The backs with curved crossbars, the spindle-shaped armrests, and the legs joined by turned wooden crossbars are typical of the Provençal Louis XVI style.
The original straw upholstery is particularly well-preserved. Traces of the fabric that once covered it are still visible along its edges.
This radassier is adorned with six cushions made from a remarkable early 19th-century Beautiran fabric, featuring a design of stylized Indian flowers. Delicate floral motifs in shades of red, pink, orange, and yellow unfold against a light background.
This antique fabric is in exceptional condition, both in terms of the vibrancy of its colors and the delicacy of its design.
The cushion covers are fully removable.
A fine example of 18th-century Provençal furniture, combining the authenticity of a Louis XVI radassier with the decorative richness of Beautiran Indian prints.
