Botanical And Unconventional Plate By Fauchier, Marseille, Circa 1760
Fine Marseille faience plate with a scalloped and shaped rim, decorated in polychrome with an elegant asymmetrical arrangement of wildflowers and pansies.
A floral bouquet adorns one side of the plate, while delicate scattered sprigs lend lightness and freshness to the composition. This airy botanical decoration is characteristic of Marseille faience produced during the second half of the 18th century.
The plate is in very good condition. The decoration remains fresh and well preserved. No chips to the rim, no visible cracks, and no significant breaks or scratches to report.
An attractive decorative piece from the Fauchier factory in Marseille, dating from the second half of the 18th century. It still retains the label of the late Béziers expert, Mr. Bonnin.
