A lovely pair of Lyon-style pétanque balls made from hardwood studded with iron; each nail head slightly overlaps the next to form a very even pattern of studs, inlaid with a distinctive mark consisting of three copper nails.
Beautiful quality.... This piece dates from the late 19th century to 1900.
External dimensions: 8.6 cm in diameter. Combined weight: approximately 1,550 g.
Condition: The balls have been used, but, having been well maintained, this pair is in fairly good condition; however, one nail is missing (barely noticeable).
