Pair of 1600s Gilded Baroque Shelves of Italian origin, crafted from cross bases, candlestick bases, or other decorative elements carved in the Baroque style, now transformed into exquisite display shelves.
Material and Finish: They are crafted from carved linden wood with an antique gold leaf finish. The gilding features an aged patina with slight wear and natural flaking that reveals the underlying layer (varnish and wood), giving them an antique charm.
The structure consists of a solid, stable, multi-tiered molded rectangular base, designed to rest on a surface or support a weight. The central body is decorated with symmetrical scrollwork and an oval medallion motif in the center. The lower section ends with a pinecone-shaped element.
