Carved Wooden Lamp With Black Forest Deer Hunting Design Ref1208

Antique table lamp resting on a substantial carved wooden base decorated with deer in a wooded landscape, crafted in the Black Forest / Brienz.

The carving features a beautiful antique patina and is particularly decorative and finely crafted.

The underside retains several old handwritten markings that are difficult to read.

The lamp is topped with a beige fabric shade featuring a scalloped edge, embellished with a substantial fringe of brown beads interspersed with white glass beads.

Period: circa 1890 – 1900

Condition: sold as found; wear on the inner and outer fabric of the lampshade (needs restoration); the carved wooden group has a lovely patina. Note: the two small removable antlers on the male deer are missing, and there is a chip on the female deer’s ear. (See photo).
