Marc LALIQUE (1900–1977), son of René Lalique, began working with his father in 1922 and took over the company in 1945 upon his father’s death. A consummate master of the art of glass, he knew every technical detail of the craft. He revitalized and modernized the company, which, in 1951, following the “L’Art du Verre” exhibition, established itself among the leading French and international crystal manufacturers. Marc LALIQUE was a designer gifted with a rare ability to innovate. His mastery of the contrast between the transparency of crystal and the satin finish—a technique unique to the Lalique brand—became famous throughout the world. Throughout his life, Marc Lalique demonstrated his passion and love for the craft of glassmaking.
