Maxalto Artona Vintage Cupboard Design Afra E Tobia Scarpa 1970s
This sideboard from the "Artona" series, designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa for Maxalto in the 1970s, is an iconic example of Italian design. The solid wood side frame features an upper inlay of walnut burl, characterized by warm, enveloping grain patterns that lend the piece a timeless elegance. The three hinged doors are upholstered in leather, creating a refined textural contrast with the wood and highlighting the attention to detail typical of Maxalto craftsmanship. Equipped with top locks, this sideboard was often used as storage for the living area or as a piece of furniture in prestigious meeting rooms.
