Baroque Canterano In Italian Walnut, Early 18th Century
An early 18th-century Baroque chest of drawers in walnut, featuring a front with four two-part drawers. The first drawer, which flips open, reveals an elegant interior compartment consisting of four drawers and a central open compartment. The front panel of the top, which also opens as a flap, lifts up to provide access to the first drawer. The side panels are cut at a 45-degree angle and supported by plinth feet, providing stability and a touch of refinement. Featuring wrought-iron handles, it has an interior made of fir. Originally, the first drawer did not have the drop-down front or the internal compartment, indicating a later customization that enhances the piece’s functionality and aesthetics.
