Gien, Rambouillet Set, Large Brocart Dish.
Artist: Jean Bertholle
A lovely large dish featuring a brocade design in Gien earthenware, from the Rambouillet service created by Jean Bertholle for President René Coty. In very good condition; note a small firing defect—a shallow, non-penetrating shrinkage mark on the rim at the back of the dish. This is not a crack caused by impact but rather an original firing shrinkage that has been glazed over. Dimensions of the platter: 44.6 x 33 cm
