A lovely gouache watercolor titled “La Rose du Matin” (The Morning Rose)—a freshly picked pink rose on a stem with a drop of dew—signed by Arthur Chaplin. A student of Léon Bonnat at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he was the son of Charles Chaplin and specialized in flower painting.
In very good condition, looks very fresh, with tiny rust spots. Unframed.
