“amor And The Bow” — Oil On Canvas, Rococo Style, Original Frame, 19th-century France
Cupid with a Bow
Probably from the second half of the 19th century, in the French Rococo style. Oil on canvas, oval format.
The god of Love, depicted as a winged child on a cloud, draws his bow and releases an arrow. Two doves, symbols of love, accompany him. A light gray-green drapery surrounds his body, while a quiver appears on his back. The composition features delicate pastel tones, rosy skin tones, and curly blond hair.
Louis XVI-style molded oval frame, painted in a light shade and partially gilded, adorned with rows of pearls and a twisted ribbon, and topped with a sculpted ribbon bow; minor imperfections.
