Royal Family Of France: Eight Cookie Silhouettes, Royalist Frame, Fleurs-de-lis, Marie Antoinette
A set of eight white porcelain bisque profiles depicting members of the French royal family, from Louis XVI to the Restoration.
The finely detailed bas-relief portraits depict Louis XVI, Marie Antoinette, Louis XVII, the Duke and Duchess of Angoulême, the Duke and Duchess of Berry, and Charles X, who is shown in the center of the bottom row.
The eight profiles are arranged in three rows against a blue fabric background, which highlights the whiteness of the bisque porcelain.
The set is presented in a royalist frame made of tinted plaster.
The four corners are adorned with cartouches decorated with fleurs-de-lis, emblems of the French monarchy.
Scrollwork and foliage motifs outline the frame, while a gilded frieze borders the composition on the inside.
This piece reflects the attachment to the Bourbon dynasty during the Restoration.

The blue fabric background also shows signs of age.
