This collection comprises twelve plaster casts of exquisite craftsmanship, depicting mythological scenes, allegorical figures and profile portraits inspired by masterpieces of ancient and neoclassical glyptics.
Our frame follows in the tradition of the 19th-century ‘Grand Tour’ souvenir collections, which were highly prized by discerning collectors who brought back from Italy these boxes and frames containing impressions (notably from the Paoletti or Liberotti workshops) immortalising the engraved gems from Europe’s great museums.
