Pair Of Art Deco Pheasants In Polychrome Bronze, With A Marble And Onyx Base

Pair of Art Deco pheasants in bronze with a polychrome patina, red, green and black, highlighted with gilt touches. The cock stands tall with its crest raised; the hen pecks, its long tapering tail behind. Plumage stylised in scales and radiating lines. Both birds are fixed on a stepped base in black marble, green onyx and brown onyx. They are not signed and each bears the mark "BRONZE" stamped under the belly.

Condition: good condition consistent with use, small wear to the patina. A green onyx plaque is missing on the front, at the left end of the base; the stone underneath shows, visible in the photos.
