This all-around writing desk, made of blackened wood with a rectangular top, is entirely adorned with remarkable marquetry work, featuring a sumptuous basket of flowers resting on a pedestal with a lion’s head, surrounded by leafy scrolls, volutes, acanthus, birds, and butterflies, opens via a large drawer running along the waist, featuring a beautiful drop-down handle in gilded bronze. . The desk’s waistband is richly inlaid with flowers and foliage. It rests on four tapered legs with fluted grooves, adorned with molded rings, joined by a remarkable fretwork crossbar, which is also inlaid. Very fine finish. Comes with its key.
